The Equipment Leasing & Finance Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with a mission to advance the $1.3 trillion equipment finance sector by cultivating the next-generation workforce through Campus to Career programs, including curriculum development and collegiate scholarships. Founded in 1989 and 100% funded through charitable donations, the Foundation is the talent development engine of the equipment finance industry.
In 2026, the Foundation is making a bold commitment: concentrating every resource on workforce development through an integrated suite of programs that connect students to careers in equipment finance. This is a rare opportunity to build something meaningful from the ground up.
Position Description:
Position: Director of Programs
Position Summary: The Director of Programs is responsible for developing and managing the Foundation's workforce development initiatives. This role is the operational heart of the Foundation's Strategic Plan, overseeing interconnected programs under the Campus to Career banner - Scholarships, University Partnerships, and Campus Visits as well as employer-facing resources including expanding Internship resources and creating new programs as momentum builds.
The Director serves as the primary staff liaison for volunteer committees who are the driving force behind these initiatives. This is a builder's role - ideal for a professional who thrives on developing new programs, managing complex stakeholder relationships, and delivering measurable outcomes.
Supervisor: Executive Director of the Foundation.
Primary Responsibilities:
Program Management (90%)
Scholarship Program
Manage the full scholarship life cycle - application, review coordination, selection, award, and recipient stewardship
Recruit and coordinate a scholarship review committee of industry volunteers
Activate scholarship recipients as Foundation ambassadors, including connections to ELFA events and board engagement opportunities
Expand scholarship outreach to HBCUs, liberal arts institutions, and underrepresented student populations
Track and report on recipient outcomes, including industry entry and retention rates
Internship Program
Develop a turnkey internship framework and toolkit to reduce barriers to participation for small and mid-size companies and regional banks
Explore software solutions to elevate the internship resources on the Foundation website
Coordinate a cohort experience for interns across the industry, including peer networking and regular check-ins
Collaborate with ELFA staff to cultivate and manage mentorship connections between student interns and industry professionals
Partner with CLFP Foundation staff to integrate student certification opportunities into the internship experience
University Partnerships
Collaborate with Executive Director to develop and manage strategic partnerships with universities that embed equipment finance education into academic curricula
Integrate CLFP resources into university programming
Scale existing partnership models to new schools with targeted outreach
Develop a partnership toolkit for faculty and administrators
Campus to Career
Develop and maintain a modern campus presentation toolkit as a volunteer resource
Coordinate and support campus visits in key regions, including CT, NJ, PA, Dallas, and Chicago
Explore platforms to support job board for internships and entry-level career opportunities
Cultivate hiring commitments from donor and sponsor companies
Volunteer Engagement
Recruit, train, and support program volunteers across all program pillars
Collaborate with Committee Chairs to organize and lead meetings, develop scope of committee work, manage volunteer engagement and project implementation.
Develop volunteer onboarding and recognition practices that make participation rewarding and time-efficient
Partner with the Donor Relations Manager to align volunteer engagement with donor stewardship
General
Help identify and manage special research projects related to workforce initiatives
Collaborate with appropriate staff to refresh and maintain Foundation webpages related to programs
Partner with the Executive Director to manage Foundation programming and support donor engagement for the ELFA annual convention.
Manage special projects as needed.
Governance (10%)
Support the Executive Director in preparing for and staffing board and committee meetings.
Assist board members, committees, and working groups with action items and questions, following up on assignments as needed.
Maintain database records for committee rosters
Knowledge and Skills
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
At least 5-7 years of progressive experience in program management, workforce development, human resources, higher education, non-profit or related field.
Demonstrated success building new programs or initiatives from concept to execution.
Strong relationship management skills with university administrators, faculty, corporate partners, or similar stakeholders
Experience recruiting, managing, and motivating volunteers or committees
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including comfort presenting to professional audiences
Customer service minded with an attention to detail
Proficiency in Microsoft 365, familiarity with Salesforce and WordPress helpful.
Work Environment, Compensation and Benefits:
Compensation: Competitive, commensurate with experience and skill set, with an anticipated base salary range of $105,000-$115,000.
Hybrid work environment: in-office 2 days per week (Tuesdays and one additional day of choice).

Position will involve occasional travel to meetings.
