Position Overview:
The position offers a prime opportunity for someone looking to lead membership growth strategy in a growing trade association.
The Senior Director of Membership Recruitment is a key leadership role responsible for identifying and recruiting key industry players to join our trade association. This individual will communicate the value of membership, develop strategic recruitment initiatives, and ultimately convert industry players to increase our membership base.
Key Responsibilities:
Identify Key Industry Players: Research and identify potential members, including health clubs, fitness centers, gyms, studios, wellness and recovery facilities and others, who would benefit from association membership.
Communicate Membership Value: Develop and deliver compelling presentations and communications that clearly articulate the benefits and value of association membership.
Membership Conversion: Implement effective sales strategies to convert prospects into members, meeting or exceeding membership recruitment targets.
Relationship Building: Build and maintain strong relationships with industry stakeholders to foster long-term engagement and support.
Strategic Initiatives: Develop and execute membership recruitment plans and campaigns to drive growth and increase membership retention.
Market Analysis: Stay informed about industry trends and market conditions to identify new opportunities for membership growth.
Collaboration: Work closely as a part of the membership team working closley with the advocacy, communications and marketing, and events teams to ensure a seamless and integrated approach to recruitment and member engagement.
Reporting: Track and report on membership recruitment activities and results, providing regular updates to senior management.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in membership recruitment, sales, or business development, preferably within a trade association
Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate the value of membership effectively.
Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to engage and influence key industry stakeholders.
Self-starter with a proactive approach to identifying and pursuing opportunities.
Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic recruitment plans and achieve sales targets.
Excellent organizational and project management skills.
Ability to analyze market trends and leverage insights to drive membership growth.
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
