The INSA Executive Vice President will report to the President. This position is considered an Officer of INSA and therefore subject to annual approval by INSA’s Board of Directors in accordance with INSA’s Bylaws. The INSA Vice President for Policy and the INSA Vice President of Administration and Management will report directly to the Executive Vice President.
RESPONSIBILITIES
In coordination with INSA’s Vice President for Policy manage the strategic direction and execution of INSA Council activities
Work with the INSA Vice President of Policy and Visiting Senior Fellows to leverage the content success of current INSA events, to include the annual AFCEA/INSA Intelligence and National Security Symposium, Leadership Dinners, Council events, the INSA Speaker Series, etc. and continuously endeavor to refresh these initiatives
Partner with INSA’s President to ensure INSA reaches annual new membership revenue goal via potential corporate member outreach
Increase level of engagement for current private, public and academic sector members
Actively promote broad participation across INSA’s governing bodies, member volunteer committees, councils and partnering organizations
Collaborate with the President and other INSA staff on revenue generating initiatives relative to INSA and INSF
Regularly communicate the Alliance’s mission, major priorities and value proposition to a variety of different constituencies
Execute the responsibilities of the INSA President in the President’s absence
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
TS/SCI Eligible
Experience at a senior level of government in the area of intelligence and national security
Leadership skills (strategy implementation, building a team, setting priorities for personnel and resources), with a minimum of 15 years of overall professional experience.
Maintain a working knowledge of significant developments and trends in the IC and complimentary organizations
Outstanding presentation and communication skills and the experience and proclivity to be a dynamic spokesperson, relationship builder, and/or fundraiser
Ability to travel outside of the DC Metro area 10% of the time in support of the Alliance’s functions as well as speaking engagements.
Strong commitment to the professional development of staff; successful track record of recruiting and retaining a diverse team
