ACC offers medical, dental, vision as well as a 401(k) matching contribution up to 6% of eligible compensation and an automatic 6% contribution of eligible compensation to the Profit-Sharing Plan, both vested immediately at 100%. The American Chemistry Council (ACC), a national trade association representing the world’s leading chemical and plastics manufacturers, currently has an opportunity for a Senior Director, Meetings and Conferences for its Membership, Meetings, and Governance division in Washington, DC. ACC represents its members on public policy issues; coordinates the industry’s research and testing programs; and administers Responsible Care®, the industry’s environment, health, safety and security performance improvement initiative.
The position is responsible for overseeing the execution of all American Chemistry Council (ACC) executive level conferences and board-related events. The position is further responsible for directing and overseeing ACC’s Conference Center and reports directly to the Vice President, Governance, Strategy and Corporate Secretary.
Required qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in related field and at least 12 years’ event management experience. Demonstrated experience in meeting and conference coordination and management, strong written and oral communications skills, as well as the ability to give internal and public presentations, the ability to cultivate and manage high quality stakeholder relationships as well as the ability to build consensus, work in a team environment, and coordinate across multiple groups within a large organization, expertise as a leader with demonstrated skills in leading, coaching and mentoring staff, and the ability to travel domestically are required.
