The Director of Membership and Marketing Services is a key position in a small and growing trade association. This position is very “hands-on” and detailed oriented in communicating and engaging with our members and industry stakeholders and providing outstanding and timely customer service. The Director will develop and execute strategies to grow the membership, its top priority, by promoting the association’s member benefits including conferences and networking opportunities, educational offerings and certifications, and committees and other membership benefits. The person must be a self-starter, agile and nimble, able to work on numerous projects simultaneously, have a passion for creating new work products while maintaining day-to-day processes, and an independent thinker with outstanding communication and judgment skills in navigating multiple priorities with a diverse group of stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
Membership
Oversees and manages Association Management Software (AMS) membership database and ensures all necessary changes are reflected in association’s publications, website, member directory, event communications, and signage. Manages membership renewals and processes all membership applications and terminations. Focuses a significant amount of time on new member outreach, an association priority, by proactively reaching out to key targets, attending industry conferences, and through print and digital marketing. Works with relevant association Committee. Creates and administers membership campaigns. Prepares membership reports for leadership and Board of Directors.
Marketing and Communications
Develops creative and engaging print and digital membership marketing materials, sponsorship brochures, newsletters, magazine, conference materials, forms, etc. Produces content for and manages website. Promotes industry via social media (LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, etc.). Manages specialized computer software to produce high quality digital publications via multiple media platforms and makes recommendations for any needed changes in utilized software.

Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, business, association management, or a related field.
Five to eight years of association management experience.
Excellent verbal and written, i.e., “soft” communication skills.

Work accurately with a laser focus attention to detail
Solid computer skills, extensive knowledge of MS Office.
Knowledge of and proficiency with social media platforms; experience with digital marketing.

Proven experience developing marketing plans and campaigns
