POSITION OVERVIEW Are you an experienced meeting planner with a passion for logistics and event execution? We are seeking a Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) to join our national association’s events team. The ideal candidate will be a strategic, detail-oriented planner with strong convention and vendor management experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and manage logistics for association events, including receptions, awards programs, executive and board meetings, and events held in conjunction with our national trade show.
Lead the RFP and contracting process for destinations, convention centers, and event vendors.
Research venues and build strong relationships with convention centers, hotels, and service providers.
Manage select member engagement programs and association initiatives related to events.
Serve as on-site lead during major events and meetings.
Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams, association leadership, and external partners.
Qualifications:
CMP designation required.
5+ years of experience in meeting planning, preferably with a national association or large corporate organization.
Proven experience negotiating contracts and managing large-scale convention logistics.
Strong organizational, communication, and relationship-building skills.
Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines.
Preferred:
Existing relationships with convention centers in U.S. cities would be ideal.
Familiarity with association governance, member programs, and volunteer engagement.
