The American Association for Justice (AAJ®) works to preserve the constitutional right to trial by jury and to make sure people have a fair chance to seek justice when they are injured by the negligence or misconduct of others - even when it means taking on the most powerful corporations.
AAJ is seeking a Membership Assistant for its Membership department. The Membership Assistantsupports the department in recruitment, retention, and servicing members.
Essential job duties include:
Respond to calls into membership hotline and provide customer support to members.
Engage with members during the renewal period via email and phone calls.
Check membership voicemails and email boxes daily and respond appropriately.
Process new membership applications. and renewal invoices, create new member records, and update the membership database.
Assist with data maintenance and database integrity.
Process refunds, adjustments, and cancellation requests.
Assist with the coordination of all aspects of AAJ’s membership recruitment and retention programs including, but not limited to phone drives, updates and processing, and research of prospective members.
Complete monthly tasks including but not limited to checking paralegal memberships, pulling new member lists, supporting field staff, monthly auto- renewal process, and checking member eligibility.
Actively promote a membership and customer service culture throughout the organization.
Perform other duties and tasks as assigned.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years’ work experience
Customer service experience required.
Previously demonstrated ability to work independently with strong organization, analytical, problem-solving, and time management skills.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both oral and written.
Prior association and/or non-profit experience preferred.
Knowledge of CRM or NetFORUM database preferred.
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Interest in social justice, politics, and protecting consumers is preferred.
Occasional travel may be required.
Salary Range: $46,000-$50,000
