Position Summary: The Manager of Chapter Relations serves as the primary liaison between IIBEC HQ and its local chapters. This role is responsible for strengthening chapter engagement, ensuring alignment with IIBEC’s mission, policies, and strategic goals, and supporting chapter leaders to deliver high-quality programming and member experiences. The Manager of Chapter Relations fosters consistent communication, governance support, and best practices across all chapters to promote organizational cohesion and sustainable growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Chapter Engagement & Support
Serve as the primary point of contact for IIBEC chapters and branches, providing guidance, resources, and ongoing support to chapter leaders, region directors, and volunteers.
Continually develop a positive relationship between IIBEC and its affiliated chapters, providing support regarding all aspects of their operation. This includes, but is not limited to:
Overseeing chapter tax filing compliance (both federal and locally/provincially), maintain federal group exemption status. This includes assisting in federal/state/provincial filing issues, should they arise.
Assisting chapters in board election process, assuring compliance in annual board rollovers and facilitating the development of board transition resources.
Serve as technical support and provide continual training to chapter leaders regarding use and maintenance of all IIBEC-provided websites.
Maintaining record of all chapter bylaws and policy guidelines, assuring compliance and alignment with IIBEC strategic plan.
Build strong relationships with chapter leaders to understand needs, challenges, and opportunities.
Promote collaboration and information sharing among chapters.
Maintain directory of IIBEC Affiliated Chapters and chapter officers.
Maintain Chapter Health Matrix for periodic board review.
Facilitate ongoing development and execution of IIBEC Outstanding Chapter Awards program.
Continually develop and facilitate annual IIBEC Leadership Development Workshop.
Work with VP of Membership & Credentials to promote membership growth and retention through chapter development.
Governance & Compliance
Support chapters in complying with IIBEC bylaws, policies, and procedures.
Assist with chapter charters, leadership transitions, elections, and governance documentation.
Monitor chapter health indicators and identify areas requiring additional support or intervention.
Programming & Events Support
Support chapters in planning and delivering meetings, educational programs, and events that align with IIBEC standards and goals.
Coordinate with internal teams to promote chapter events, education offerings, and initiatives.
Share best practices and tools to enhance chapter programming quality and consistency.
Update national calendar to reflect Chapters and Branches events.
Communication & Training
Develop and maintain regular communication channels with chapter leaders, including updates, toolkits, and guidance materials.
Plan and facilitate chapter leader training sessions, webinars, and orientation programs.
Serve as a conduit for feedback between chapters and IIBEC National leadership.
Data, Reporting & Continuous Improvement
Track chapter activity, engagement metrics, and performance indicators.
Prepare reports and recommendations for leadership on chapter trends, successes, and challenges.
Support initiatives to improve chapter engagement, volunteer leadership development, and member retention.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Collaborate with membership, education, marketing, advocacy, and events teams to ensure alignment between national and chapter-level initiatives.
Support strategic initiatives involving chapters, including membership growth, sponsorships, and outreach.
Qualifications: Required
Bachelor’s degree in association management, nonprofit administration, communications, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
3+ years of experience working with volunteer leaders, chapters, or affiliated organizations.
Strong relationship management and communication skills.
Experience interpreting and applying governance documents such as bylaws and policies.
Preferred
Experience working within a professional association or nonprofit organization.
Familiarity with chapter-based organizational models.
Experience with association management systems (AMS) or CRM platforms.
Knowledge of volunteer engagement and leadership development best practices.
