Job Summary: The Executive Director is a dynamic individual that provides strategic leadership and guides the overall operations of CISCA. Under the authority and guidance of the CISCA Board of Directors, the Executive Director plays a pivotal role in driving the organization towards achieving its goals and objectives. This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced professional to foster a thriving community of members.
The Executive Director will be responsible for the following:
1. Strategic Leadership:
Implement and execute the business plan of CISCA, aligning it with the organization's goals and objectives.
Provide vision and leadership to shape the future of CISCA and ceiling and interior systems
2. Financial and Operational Management:
Manage all financial aspects of CISCA, including budgeting, daily operations, financial planning, and investments.
Develop and maintain a productive and professional staff, providing direction, motivation, and accountability.
Ensure the organization's financial stability and long-term viability.
3. Membership Development and Engagement:
Understand and meet the needs of CISCA members by providing technical information, effective communication channels, networking opportunities, services, and educational resources.
Recruit new members and ensure their needs are met through proactive engagement and support.
Foster positive interaction between member companies through ongoing member forums.
4. Industry Advocacy and Representation:
Coordinate and organize events, including educational programs and industry forums, to promote knowledge-sharing and networking.
Maintain active involvement in regional and national associations influencing the ceiling and interior systems industry.
5. Board Collaboration and Policy Development:
Work closely with the Board of Directors to develop and implement policies and long-range strategies and ensure that the objectives set forth by the Board are effectively achieved.
Foster a united membership that encourages the participation and vision of all members.
6. Staff Management and Performance:
Develop and manage comprehensive performance plans for all staff members, clearly outlining their roles, responsibilities, and performance expectations.
Conduct regular performance reviews and evaluations in accordance with established timelines to assess individual performance and track progress towards goals.
Provide constructive feedback and guidance to employees, offering support and resources to help them achieve their objectives.
Identify training and professional development opportunities for staff to enhance their skills and knowledge in alignment with organizational goals.
Foster a performance-driven culture by setting challenging yet achievable goals and recognizing and rewarding employees' accomplishments.
Address any performance issues or concerns promptly and effectively, providing coaching and implementing corrective actions when necessary.
7. Standards Development and Technical Services:
Positively influence the development of industry standards for the ceiling and interior systems industry.
8. Resource Management and Technical Expertise:
Utilize the resources available on the CISCA website to provide members with valuable technical information, industry best practices, and access to relevant resources.
Stay up to date with industry trends, advancements, and emerging technologies, and share this knowledge with members to support their professional growth and enhance their business operations.
9. Collaborative Partnerships:
Build and maintain collaborative partnerships with industry stakeholders, including architects, engineers, manufacturers, and other trade associations, to foster innovation, share knowledge, and drive collective industry growth.
Leverage these partnerships to enhance the reputation and influence of CISCA within the broader construction community.
10. Communication and Marketing:
Develop and execute effective communication strategies to ensure consistent and timely dissemination of information to members, industry professionals, and the public.
Utilize the CISCA website, social media platforms, newsletters, and other communication channels to promote CISCA's mission, initiatives, events, and member benefits.
11. Business Travel and Event Attendance:
The Executive Director is required to travel on behalf of the association to attend industry conferences, trade shows, meetings, and other relevant events as necessary.
Represent CISCA at local, regional, and national events, establishing and maintaining strong relationships with members and industry professionals.
Act as the association's ambassador, actively promoting CISCA's mission, initiatives, and member benefits during business travel and at events.
Manage travel arrangements, including logistics, accommodations, and expenses, in accordance with the organization's travel policies and budgetary guidelines.
12. Continuous Improvement:
Actively seek feedback from members and the Board of Directors to identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to enhance member satisfaction and engagement.
Continuously assess and adapt CISCA's programs, services, and events to meet the evolving needs and expectations of the ceiling and interior systems industry.
Qualifications:
Extensive experience (5+ years) in a senior leadership role within a trade association or a related industry, with a deep understanding of the construction industry.
Proven track record of strategic planning, organizational management, and successful execution of business plans.
Strong financial acumen, including budget management, financial planning, and investment oversight.
Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to motivate, manage, and develop a diverse staff.
Exceptional communication and advocacy abilities, with a talent for representing the interests of the industry and engaging with stakeholders.
Experience in fostering member engagement, recruitment, and satisfaction within a trade association or similar organization.
Knowledge of industry standards and regulations relevant to the construction industry.
Proficiency in association management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Bachelor's degree in business administration, construction management, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
