NTCA – The Rural Broadband Association is looking for a Foundation Fundraising Manager to join our philanthropic entity, the Foundation for Rural Service (FRS). FRS supports NTCA’s mission and members by supporting rural broadband companies, communities and policymakers with educational information, products and programming. The Foundation Fundraising Manager is responsible for event and fundraising management under the supervision of the Executive Director. Promoting positive member relations and presenting a professional image of the foundation/association to NTCA members, FRS contributors, board members and the public.
What will you do?
Manage event planning and execution for all FRS fundraising events including site selection, food & beverage, entertainment vendor contract negotiation, budget oversight, securing sponsorships, internal and external promotion, registration, billing, and on-site leadership.
Lead, plan and implement the annual Youth Tour, with primary responsibility for planning the itinerary; overseeing coordination of student and chaperone registration and invoicing; vetting and securing all lodging, transportation, food & beverage, and entertainment, including negotiating contracts and payments; and directing on-site check-in and orientation.
Responsible for creating fundraising strategies and oversight of donor solicitation and tracking. Oversight of gift processing, develops fundraising reports, designs member solicitation campaigns, and conducts trending analyses. Serves as the primary point of contact to the Fundraising Committee, including updating the Committee Chair and preparing agendas and notes for meetings.
Manage FRS sponsorships for support of FRS events and programs. Establish and maintain relationships with sponsors to promote future support.
Assist the Executive Director with the Scholarship Program, including promotion of the program, coordination with external application reviewers, selection and awarding of awards. Partner with Foundation Assistant and the Finance team to distribute scholarship awards.
Assist the Executive Director with the Community Grant and Virtual Living Room programs, including the application, review and selection processes; partnering with the Finance team to distribute the grants; and partnering with the Communications team to publicize and announce the awards.
Provide content suggestions and materials to Foundation Assistant for creation of social media posts, FRS webpage, and mass email communications.
Promote positive member relations at events and meetings, including staffing the FRS Booth at NTCA’s Annual Meeting and Fall Conference, and other meetings as necessary.
Provide assistance to the Foundation’s Board of Directors, as needed.
Perform other special projects or duties as requested by the Executive Director.
The ideal candidate will have the following position requirements:
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Effective interpersonal skills, as well as strong organizational and project management skills.
Understanding of budgets and financial tracking.
Strong technical skills, experience working in AMS, mass email systems, basic HTML, Kaleidoscope, and Microsoft Office is a plus
Possess a general interest in the non?profit arena.
Fundraising and event management experience preferred.
Practical knowledge, skills & abilities usually acquired through an undergraduate degree and a minimum of 4 years of related work experience
