Summary/Objective
The VP of Marketing is an experienced marketing leader whose primary objective is to oversee the development and employment of various marketing and branding strategies to achieve our long- and short-term organizational goal and business goals through progressive, modern marketing practice.
Working closely with leadership across the organization, this leader establishes a digital first marketing strategy and oversees implementation of campaigns tailored to specific segments, programs, products, and events to achieve targeted goals for participation, attendance, and revenue.
This position manages a team of skilled professionals with thorough knowledge of traditional and digital channels based on analysis of the product goals, audience, marketing, sales, and competitive data. Builds brand awareness and is a thought leader with the ability to execute scalable strategies that drive results.
This position will have significant leadership and interaction with all departments at ASAE.

Leadership
Works collaboratively with a diverse group of product owners across the organization to create and manage cross-organizational, integrated marketing strategies that drive business results for ASAE.
Lead, motivate, and coordinate the work of marketing, design, and production teams to complete projects on time and within budget in a fast-paced, high volume work environment.
Mentors staff members for continued professional development and growth.
Pushes forward and is mindful of organizational priorities while executing campaigns and new processes.
Marketing Management
Creates organization-wide data-centric marketing strategy in conjunction with all teams to achieve business objectives for both the ASAE brand and product lines.
Leads marketing team to work collaboratively using a digital first marketing strategy for campaigns tailored to specific segments, programs, products, and events.
Establishes a department-wide marketing calendar to eliminate overlap, and reviews all marketing materials to ensure audience segmentation, messaging consistency, and accuracy before execution.
Manages ASAE’s staff and budget resources in a fiscally responsible manner to maximize LOE and ROI.
Reviews and analyzes ASAE’s topline, channel, and campaign metrics on an ongoing basis to share insights and recommendations.
Analyzes and leverages available data on products, audience, marketing, sales, and competitive landscape, and more to develop marketing strategy and tactics.
Able to make quick decisions based on lessons learned about customers, and how those customers want to be engaged, including budget allocation to maximize ROI.
Essential Skills
Extensive experience creating and implementing marketing strategies to achieve multiple objectives simultaneously.
Experience within the Association space, or with knowledge of the priorities and complexities of membership-based organizations.
Ability to communicate creative concepts and strategies to a diverse range of members and non-members.
Thorough knowledge and understanding of strategic principles of paid media, email marketing, social media, marketing automation, and marketing data analysis.
Ability to write business documents such as board reports, marketing strategies, creative briefs.
Familiarity with project management platforms, CMS/AMS, and business analysitcs platforms.

Travel Travel required for specific meetings and/or events. 1-5% of the time.
Required Education and Experience Four-year college degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, or related area is required. Graduate degree preferred.
A minimum of 12 to 15 years of demonstrated account management experience and results in collateral and electronic marketing communications development in a high-paced, high-volume environment is required.

This position requires excellent communication skills including interpersonal and listening skills, superb writing skills and a well-developed sense of account management and customer/client service. Individual must be able to work independently and collaboratively as one member of 10-person marketing, branding and communications department and more broadly with the entire Communications Group and clients throughout the organization.
