The American Association of Suicidology (“AAS”) is a 501(c)3 membership organization dedicated to everyone engaged in suicide prevention, intervention, postvention, and those impacted by suicide. Founded in 1968 by a like-minded group of groundbreaking researchers and clinicians, the mission of AAS is to promote the understanding and prevention of suicide and support those who have been affected by it. AAS leads the advancement of suicide prevention advocacy, policy, and programmatic efforts in suicide prevention through education and training, the development of standards and resources, and survivor support services.
