Position Summary: The Data Analyst has primary responsibility for the organization’s business intelligence tools (MS PowerBI) and works closely with a team of business process and data analysts, database managers and business leaders to improve organizational performance.
Primary Responsibilities
Primary lead for business intelligence tools (MS PowerBI)
Develops data sets, charts, graphs, and dashboards to improve business insight for executive leadership, business leads and program/product managers.
Collaborates with analytics and business teams to manage and assess data that feed business intelligence tools, increasing data accessibility, and fostering data-driven decision making across the organization.
Implements processes and systems to monitor data quality, ensuring data is accurate and available for key stakeholders and is appropriately represented in intelligence tools.
Trains non-analytics staff in the daily use of intelligence tools.
Assists business staff using intelligence tools in creating complex views, charts, datasets and troubleshoots as needed.
Works closely with a team of business process analysts and database managers to improve business performance through data analysis.
Supports database production, evaluating changes and updates to source production systems.
Performs data analysis required to troubleshoot data related issues and assist in the resolution of data issues.
Supports initiatives for data integrity, normalization, and integration.
Assists with testing and implementing new or upgraded software.
Participates in strategic decisions on new software/system selections.
Supports reporting needs, such as generating reports from single or multiple databases.
Create SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers and views as required
Training end users on report generation and interpretation.
Providing technical expertise on data storage structures, data mining, and data cleaning.
Performs other duties as requested.
Requirements
Deep knowledge and experience with MS PowerBI and other analytics tools, as well as SQL query development
3+ years work experience as data or business analyst
Ability to analyze existing tools and databases and provide software solution recommendations.
Ability to translate business requirements into non-technical, lay terms.
Demonstrated experience in handling complex data sets and relational databases.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
