SUMMARY
The Financial Analyst is responsible for supporting the development of accurate, timely and insightful analyses, metrics, models, and forecasts to aid the management team in making informed decisions. This role will provide support for the annual budget and forecast processes, provide ad-hoc, trend and benchmarking analysis support, perform monthly account reconciliations, and contribute to risk management activities.
JOB FUNCTIONS
Financial Planning and Analysis Responsibilities 40% of Time
Prepares and analyzes operational & performance metrics and financial reports and variance analyses.
Provides ad hoc reports on both financial and non-financial data on an as needed basis.
Queries existing systems to extract data and develop reports.
Coordinates and supports the preparation of the annual budget and other financial forecasts.
Provides training and support to Vena (internal financial planning software) users.
Finance Responsibilities 40% of Time
Prepares monthly reconciliation of NetForum data to source systems.
Contributes to the preparation and analysis of monthly financial close.
Validates the accounting set-up of all NetForum product additions or changes.
Assists with external financial audits, taxes, and compliance issues.
Risk Management Activities 10% of Time
Coordinates insurance renewal process and fulfills associated reporting needs.
Identifies process improvements and provides recommendations for implementation.
Identifies anomalies in NetForum accounting transactions and reports findings to finance management.
Performs specific internal audit reviews as directed by CFO and Director.
Other Responsibilities 10% of Time
Cross-trained on financial processes (AP/AR).
Responsible for other tasks or duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
Baccalaureate degree preferred.
Minimum five years of experience in accounting or a related field.
Proficient in MS Excel, intermediate level preferred.
Data extraction and analysis skills preferred.
Must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Must have strong customer service orientation.
Must have strong team orientation.
Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
Must exhibit a high degree of attention to detail.
Must be able to organize and prioritize workload.
Must be able to work independently.
