The National Propane Gas Association is looking for a Manager of Association Membership -Recruitment/Sales and Retention to join their growing team in Washington, DC. This person will lead the organization’s efforts to grow and develop the members that participate in National Propane Gas Association. This person will be responsible for reaching out to new prospects to grow the membership association as well as play an active role in relationship management of the current members. This position will report to the VP, Communications and Member Services. Full-time position with benefits.
What You Will Do
Increase membership by reaching out and marketing the benefits to new prospects, which includes cold calling.
Continuous outreach and relationship building with current members with the goal to retain them year to year.
Conduct research to find potential members in new and existing member categories.
Promote member services and affinity programs as part of outreach activities.
Make contact with existing members at least once a year.
Record, track and update all outreach in member database.
Work with the Communications Department to create effective membership recruitment and retention materials.
Perform activities as NPGA brand ambassador at conferences and events.
Perform other duties as assigned.
What You Bring
Demonstrated experience with sales, candidate and/or member recruiting and retention efforts.
Previous inside sales or cold calling experience preferred.
Previous experience in a role implementing successful membership growth and retention strategies preferred.
Associate or Bachelor degree preferred.
Proactive, self-starter who takes initiative.
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to quickly learn all aspects of the propane industry.
Ability to network effectively in a professional social setting.
Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Some domestic travel required (approximately 25%).
