Do you have an interest in health policy, coding and payer education, as well as advocacy? Do you want to join a mission-driven organization that makes a difference in the U.S. healthcare landscape?
ASTRO, the American Society for Radiation Oncology, is looking for an individual with an interest in health policy to join our team that supports ASTRO’s advocacy efforts dealing with coding development and guidance, private insurers and Medicare coverage issues.
The role of the Manager of Health Policy involves oversight of ASTRO’s coding and payer coverage policy initiatives, with primary focus on leveraging ASTRO’s existing expertise to establish a broad and comprehensive coding education and payer engagement program. Reporting to the Director of Health Policy, the Health Policy Manager will be part of a larger team consisting of a Health Policy Analyst and Health Policy Coordinator, and whose areas of expertise focus on coding education and payer coverage policy review. This individual will work with the health policy team to direct key projects in the department, including but not limited to ASTRO’s Radiation Oncology Coding Resource, the ASTRO Coding and Coverage Seminar, and a payer education program involving webinars and other educational outreach.
NOTE: The position is DC area-based and currently a work-from-home position due to the COVID-19 pandemic. At this time, there is an option to work from our HQ offices in Arlington, VA (Crystal City) on a voluntary basis. After ASTRO’s offices fully re-open (target mid-2021), all staff will be expected to return to the offices on a full-time basis, with the opportunity to telework up to two days/week.
