CoSN is seeking a Senior Manager of Professional Advancement. This is a full-time exempt position reporting to the Director of External Relations.
CoSN (the Consortium for School Networking) is the premier professional association for district technology leaders. For over two decades, CoSN has provided leaders with the management, community building, and advocacy tools they need to succeed. Today, CoSN represents over 13 million students in school districts nationwide and continues to grow as a powerful and influential voice in K-12 education.
The Senior Manager of Professional Advancement oversees the development and distribution of all professional advancement offerings for the association. These offerings include publications, webinars, podcasts and online self-study, facilitated and in-person courses/offerings. This position will support the development of key resources tied to leadership initiatives with CoSN project directors. This position will track grant deliverables and assist with developing proposals for new/renewing grants.
Primary Responsibilities
The incumbent will have the following primary responsibilities:
Develop tools and resources for district technology leaders including print publications, webinars and online tools.
Develop professional advancement opportunities for district technology leaders including on line, facilitated and in person courses.
Coordinate promotion for all CoSN professional advancement opportunities with the Communications Department.
Coordinate the CoSN webinars and podcast series and work with all presenters to ensure they are comfortable with the format.
Manage course enrollment for courses and payment in the Learning Management system and Association Management Systems.
Track existing grant proposals to ensure the deliverables are completed in a timely manner.
Support the implementation of the most effective professional advancement practices.
Coordinate presentations relating to Leadership Initiatives for CTO clinics.
Work with the Senior Director of Marketing and Communications to coordinate the work of CoSN project Directors for all CoSN Leadership Initiatives.
Evaluate professional development programs and ensure that programs have a beneficial impact.
Lead the team of volunteer and experts involved in the Professional Advancement Committee and other relevant committees and panels.
Update the CoSN website as needed in areas that relate to the responsibilities.
The incumbent will have the following skills:
A minimum of five years of experience as a project manager in a nonprofit setting with a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of work experience.
A positive, creative, strategic, and energetic team orientation.
Excellent organizational, editing, writing, and communication skills.
Demonstrated expertise of instructional design processes and capacity for innovation.
Great attention to detail and a focus on efficiency.
Comfort working in a fast?paced, dynamic environment.
Knowledge of current trends in curriculum for professional development; planning and project management; and, collaboration, coordination, and facilitation of work groups.
An understanding of the U.S. K-12 education system with preference for candidates with experience working at other national/state education associations/nonprofits.
Possess technology fluency, including basic website development skills and understanding of using social media and online communities of practice in a professional setting.
