The Membership & Advertising Sales Manager serves as the main staff person responsible for prospecting and recruitment of “Contractor” members in the $2-$10 million category range community and for prospecting and securing advertising sales for NALP’ bi-monthly trade magazine, weekly e-newsletter, NALP web site and other platforms.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Internal Focus
Successfully meet the budgetary goals of the organization in all areas in which contractors are the main constituents; manage the income and expense accounts in assigned areas
Provide regular progress reports to the AVP, Membership & Business Development.
Work with the Membership team to oversee, help create, manage, and execute all aspects of the NALP membership program.
Work with NALP Marketing & Communications department on development of media kit and rate card as well as fulfillment of advertising contracts.
Work with NALP finance department to ensure proper invoicing and accounting is taking place.
Support NALP staff on various projects and educational events. On-site event support is especially critical to successfully serving NALP’s members.
External Focus
Serve as a staff liaison to the Membership Advisory Council and Supplier Advisor Council.
Prospect and recruit Contractor prospects to become members of NALP.
Establish and manage relationships, programs, and partnerships to enable members to achieve greater revenue.
Prospect, recruit and secure ad sales from industry suppliers and their media buying companies, where applicable.
Focus on growing existing accounts and acquiring new ones to ensure an adequate pipeline is maintained.
Conduct meetings and deliver consultative sales presentations.
Work with NALP’s membership team to ensure member satisfaction
Build strong relationships with industry and non-industry suppliers and contractors and facilitate their engagement in NALP
Provide guidance on NALP’s leadership opportunities and attendance/networking at events as well as developing sound marketing strategies that involve membership and advertising sales.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Bachelor’s Degree or comparable related educational background.
Minimum of 3 years of marketing and/or sales experience with proven track record of success in selling membership and/or ad sales.
Minimum of 3 years of business experience
Strong communications capabilities, including experience and comfort with communicating and dealing with top-level executives
Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus
Strong computer, presentation, and technology competencies
Proficient in the use of all forms of media including social and industry sites, media software, computer, copier, and other office equipment
Able to negotiate, influence and gain the confidence of a broad spectrum of employees, executives, and industry professionals
Strong organizational skills
Adept at reading and analyzing industry specific news and data
Ability to excel in a team setting and flexibility to ensure completion of team goals
Ability to work in an environment of pressure in an organized and professional manner
