The Division of Education has implemented several new programs that focus on mental health technology, the future of mental health care delivery and developing novel learning experiences for mental health clinicians. The Project Manager (PM) supports the Division of Education in the development of innovative programs and special initiatives. The PM will manage the planning, development and implementation of initiatives such as the Mental Health Innovation Zone, APA Annual Meeting Learning Labs, APA Annual Meeting Edutours, the national Mind Games competitions, and other projects as assigned. The PM will work directly with the Deputy Director of Education and using project management approaches, the PM will be responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate implementation of these programs. Define and manage projects at the task level for several concurrent projects, provides information and technical assistance to program faculty regarding deadlines and submission processes; responds to meeting-related inquiries; and collaborates on conference-related publications. The successful candidate will have a strong passion for technology, interested in AR/VR, Machine Learning, Digital Medicine and Data Mining.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Mental Health Innovation Zone (MHIZ)
Conduct environmental scans of prospective supporters and innovative companies to collaborate on special projects, build relationships with innovative mental health tech companies.
Organize and participate in conference calls with external partners and build relationships with vendors.
Research latest technology enhancements and hot topics in mental health for potential program inclusion.
Manage MHIZ speakers and special guests, develop welcome packets, collect and organize presentation titles, abstracts, manage and disseminate schedule information on all communications platforms including mobile meeting app, website and social media platforms.
Manage onsite logistics including the preparation of booth graphics, run of show and manage MHIZ assets including videos, supporter logos and badges.
APA Learning Labs, Edutours and the Psychiatry Innovation Lab
Organize and participate in conference calls with faculty and invited external organizations.
Serves as contact for Annual Meeting and IPS: The Mental Health Services Conference Learning Lab and special innovative session speakers and presenters.
Manages background materials for prospective speakers and updates the web site and online submission system as needed.
Conduct off site annual meeting experiences with selected host locations, managing attendee lists, organizing transportation needs and meals.
Participate in planning calls with the Committee on Innovation in the development and execution of the Psychiatry Innovation Lab.
Disseminate information to the Division of Communication and Marketing and Psychiatric News staff. Prepares and provides information to assist in the generation of articles to promote innovative programming.
Mindgames National Competition
Organizes and manages the resident quiz bowl by following up with contestants, organizing rehearsals, vendors, and judges.
Manages the development of questions for the quiz bowl.
Manage the schedule of events and manages the onsite showcase, including compiling judges’ packets, host instructions and ordering the competition trophy. Manage deadlines and expectations on all deliverables
Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, AND QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s Degree in relevant discipline
Project Management certification or related work experience. Work experience to include planning and executing projects, assisting with multiple complex projects, strong project management skills with attention to detail.
A technology, software and Innovation enthusiast interested in machine learning, design thinking and virtual reality.
You communicate clearly and concisely both in written and verbal interactions.
Excellent interpersonal skills with a focus on team work and customer service
Experience Microsoft Office (Word, Excel PowerPoint, Teams), google docs, internet search engines, and online databases
You are extremely detail oriented and have excellent coordination and interpersonal skills, with ability to organize and set priorities for multiple simultaneous activities; and work independently with minimal supervision.
You thrive in fast pace environments and comfortable suggesting enhancements to the program and overall goal.
You are an Exceptional conceptual, creative, problem-solving abilities, with a focus on meeting deadlines for deliverables.
You are familiar using audiovisual and computer equipment and enjoy using online task management platforms.
