Position Overview CHPA is currently seeking a healthcare and policy expert to serve as our Director, Health Policy. This brand new position will execute all aspects of health policy analysis and pharmacoeconomic projects for the association, including conducting outreach to healthcare organizations involved in consumer healthcare product benefits within plan design; identifying emerging issues in consumer-directed healthcare; developing research options to promote the role of consumer healthcare products in healthcare systems; utilizing of government and public databases; and conducting health policy and economics literature reviews.
The Director, Health Policy will identify emerging issues, develop research options, and conduct analyses on the role of consumer healthcare products in healthcare systems, including work with in-house counsel on assessments of how proposed changes in law or regulation may impact related policy goals. He/she will conduct research, including quantitative and qualitative analysis; write reports for internal and external audiences, including policymakers and opinion leaders; manage market research projects; and present to company executives and outside stakeholders on research results, policy options, and the merits of CHPA positions.
Required Bachelor’s degree and 8-10 years of professional work experience in health policy, health economics, or social science research; knowledge of healthcare systems; superior analytical skills with ability to assimilate and integrate large amounts of information on complex problems into concise materials in support of advocacy goals; excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills; proven ability to work independently, set priorities, and deliver against tight deadlines; and demonstrated acumen in academic literature searches.
Preferred Advanced degree; familiarity with consumer research tools and techniques; and familiarity with statistical analysis applications.
