The International Council of Air Shows (ICAS) and the ICAS Foundation are seeking a full-time employee who will work 50 percent of his/her time as executive director/CEO of the the ICAS Foundation and 50 percent of his/her time as a director-level employee of ICAS, a 501(c)(6) trade association serving the North American air show community. He/she will have demonstrated fundraising skills and experience, outstanding written and verbal communications skills, and proven ability to adapt and innovate to increase organizational impact and relevance. The successful candidate will also have experience in strategic planning, project management, budgeting and non-profit organizational operations. A bachelor's level degree or higher is required for this position.
As executive director of the 501 (c)(3) ICAS Foundation, the successful candidate will be the first paid employee of the Foundation and report to a volunteer board of directors. He/she will serve as the chief staff officer responsible for overseeing the execution of the strategic plan, fundraising, program management and day-to-day administration of the Foundation. Key responsibilities include working with the Foundation Board to establish and maintain strategic direction, communicating regularly with the air show community, and fundraising to meet the financial requirements of the organization.
As program director within ICAS, the successful candidate will be primarily responsible for the development of a new industry certification program, best practice programming and web-based education initiatives. In this capacity, he/she will report to the ICAS President/CEO. Both the ICAS and ICAS Foundation Boards of Directors expect this new employee to become the full-time executive director for the ICAS Foundation and complete his/her work as a program director for ICAS within 18 to 36 months.
The salary for the position will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The benefits package includes vacation time and health insurance. Although there will be room for teleworking options, the successful candidate will be based at the ICAS headquarters office in Leesburg, Virginia.
