American Roentgen Ray Society (ARRS), a medical professional society headquartered in eastern Loudoun County, is seeking a Managing Editor for its monthly peer-reviewed journal and other publications. This position is responsible for ensuring the editorial quality, consistency, and timeliness of society publications as assigned, maintaining and ensuring compliance with established style guidelines, recruiting, training, and supervising team of staff and freelance editors, editing, and proofreading manuscripts. Successful candidate will have excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, 5 – 7 years’ experience in biomedical editing at a senior level, working knowledge of copyright and permissions in journal publishing, ability to foster a productive team environment and work with remotely-located staff, demonstrate attention to detail, and record of meeting demanding deadlines.
Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree and/or specialized training or credentials in related field desired.

The American Roentgen Ray Society, founded in 1900, is the first and oldest radiology society in the United States.
