The Regional Partner Representative role is needed in our Alexandria, VA office, and will serve in a revenue-producing capacity supporting ASCD digital sales objectives for specified K-12 districts and schools accounts in the United States.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Uses a solution sales approach to sell, consult, and promote ASCD’s digital product offerings with priority emphasis placed on ASCD Activate by contacting prospective and established customers and conducting solution sales meetings. Additional ASCD products and offerings will be added based on market need, sales capacity, and Regional Partner Representative training.
Establishes short and long-term digital sales strategies for assigned accounts, provides reports and maintains a database of sales opportunities; updates contact records for each account; makes appropriate recommendations and modifications to sales activities and regional sales plans.
Plans and executes multiday trips to conduct meetings with decision makers to determine needs, present solutions and close deals. Approximately 5 – 10 multiple day sales trips per year.
Gathers and provides competitive and market information from customers that benefit ASCD in the development of new products, programs, and services, while at the same time offers customers solutions from the wide array of ASCD digital programs, products, and services that can address their professional development needs.
Maintains an ongoing, high-level knowledge of ASCD products and services and sales and marketing models and processes, as well as an awareness of markets, competitor activities, and contacts within assigned area; recognizes and reports relevant sales and market trends in their regions.
Participates in presenting at ASCD meetings.
Manages and conducts special marketing and sales projects as assigned.
A four-year college degree in a relevant field of study is preferred.
Knowledge of sales techniques.
Knowledge of the education sector highly desirable, but not required.
Knowledge and use of online sales management applications, preferably Salesforce, highly desirable.

Ability to learn and use web-based office applications for online collaboration and document/content management.
Ability to work from home office or a later determined brick & mortar location
One to two years’ related sales experience is required.
One to two years’ experience in the education market is highly desirable.
Normal demands associated with a deadline-driven office environment.
The noise level is generally quiet to moderate.
Daily contact with external customers, vendors, colleagues, associates, supervisors, and staff at all levels of the organization.
Ability to communicate and exchange information with others.
Ability to perceive and inspect records in a document management system.

Ability to travel to off-site meetings up to 25%. Travel is within or outside of sales territory.
