National medical specialty society in the northwest suburbs seeking dynamic, responsive, big-picture thinker to lead its educational programs and meetings.
Responsible for providing leadership, oversight and management of the Society’s education programs, meetings and research grant activities. This includes all strategic direction, logistics planning, financial management, and execution of activities with respect to ASDS’s education including but not limited to the Annual Meeting and other live educational programs, distance-learning, meeting’s management, and research awards, including the Cutting Edge Research Grant program, ACCME accreditation compliance and guidelines development. Serves as a member of the senior management team.
Responsible for the strategy and development of the Society’s education and research grant programs. Ensures programs reflect current trends and meet member needs. Utilizes various assessment techniques to determine member needs and satisfaction with educational program offerings. Establishes performance metrics to measure effectiveness.
Responsible for ACCME accreditation compliance. Assures that systems, processes, and policies are in place to support compliance in the most effective and efficient means possible while balancing the need for corporate support.
Responsible for the Annual Meeting educational content, including but not limited to general sessions, break-out sessions, pre-conferences, patient demonstrations, workshops and mini-symposia.
Oversees all meeting planning responsibilities, including site selection, contract negotiations, logistics planning, and all tasks associated with the successful execution of meetings.
Oversees all objectives specific to procedural courses, derivative products and distance-learning offerings are satisfied including strategic planning, content development, successful launch and execution.
Oversees Educational Exchange, Cutting Edge Research, and other related programs.
Facilitates and manages the development of guidelines including selection of topics, authors, reviewers, production timeline, and submission to the ASDS Board for approval.
Effectively manages the finances relating to core areas. Understands ROI and seeks to grow profitability.
Responsible for the management and professional development of departmental staff.
Serves as a member of the senior management team. Assists in the strategic planning process and works closely with the Executive Director, volunteer leadership and management team in its implementation.

Minimum 5-7 years experience in the delivery of adult education for professional medical association
Minimum 5 years management experience
Competent skills in Word, Excel, and Power Point
