Association Management Center is seeking a Conference and Advertising Sales Associate to join our team. As a sales associate, you will be an integral member of our Professional Relations and Development department which sells exhibit space, advertising, sponsorships, and promotional opportunities on behalf of our association partners. You’ll work with them to generate revenue that supports education, research, and other mission-based activities while being a part of a highly collaborative and passionate team.

What you’ll do as a Sales Associate:
Create and maintain positive, collaborative relationships with our customers and internal teams.
Engage in sales activities including advertising and exhibit sales, ad-hoc projects, and create regular sales-activity reports and industry analyses.
Actively cultivate long-term relationships with industry contacts via a customer-centric approach that includes face-to-face meetings, phone calls, and e-mails.
Sell exhibit space, sponsorships, advertising in printed and electronic publications, and other opportunities.
Collaborate with colleagues to understand the marketplace and identify strategies for reaching various customer segments.
Establish sales goals and determine how to achieve them in support of our association partner’s annual budgets.
Create annual sales strategy and tactical plan for one or more association partners.
Track all sales activity via Salesforce and share information with our association partners.
Engage with the creative team to develop print and digital communications that support sales activity.
Support sales efforts by keeping an eye on industry trends and best practices and applying that knowledge.
The best candidates for the job will:
Possess a bachelor’s degree
Be well organized, detailed oriented, and a multitasker
Display winning communication and persuasive skills
Have a successful sales record in publishing and events
Proactively develop and foster customer relationships
Cold call and search for new business with prospective clients
Be able to travel out of Illinois for conferences and site visits
Have a 1-3 years of sales experience; healthcare experience highly desirable
