The association is looking for people with a passion, energy, and commitment to help us move the field of criminal justice forward. We seek to hire a Project Manager who, under the direction of the Senior Program Manager, will manage the VALOR Law Enforcement Agency and Officer Resiliency Program.
Over the duration of the grant project, the IACP will develop a resiliency training program to help officers and agencies become better prepared to manage and cope with job trauma and stress. This program will include working group meetings, a direct on-site pilot training series, a train-the-trainer course, comprehensive program evaluation, and on-going technical assistance to pilot site agencies.
Working with IACP staff, project partners, and stakeholders, the Project Manager will:
Organize and track the progress and budget of all project activities to include project-related meetings and events, curriculum design, evaluation, and programmatic information
Guide the development and modification of new and existing training curriculum and resources
Plan on-site meetings and training events with oversight of agreements, arrangements, budget management, and partner engagement
Design project materials such as information sheets, evaluation forms, worksheets, and activities
Develop customized resources to meet identified needs, to include publications, reports, webinars, workshop presentations, etc.
Coordinate resources for technical assistance and follow-up needs of pilot site agencies
Create and support project outreach/marketing and information dissemination including presentations, articles, and social media
Manage consultant contracts, assignments, and reimbursement
Support budget and finance tracking according to IACP and federal guidelines as well as create federally required event requests
Prepare and review progress reports internally and externally for funders
Maintain communication with project team, staff members, and national partners
Develop and provide support to other IACP team projects and events as needed
Assist with identification and development of grant solicitations/proposals
Minimum of three years of related experience training support or event coordination experience preferably in a non-profit organization, association, or criminal justice environment
Familiarity and understanding of office safety and wellness and community policing
Experience managing comprehensive multi-year projects, especially with law enforcement/criminal justice partners
Required Core Skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills
Prior report, budget and document preparation experience
Ability to account for and preserve project resources
Experience working collaboratively and productively with a team including law enforcement professionals and consultant within federal agency guidelines
Presentation/facilitation skills, preferably with law enforcement/criminal justice partners, and an understanding of adult learning principles
Experience with curriculum or publication development
Experience with writing and/or managing federally-funded efforts
Familiarity and understanding of law enforcement issues
Occasional travel may be required
This is a grant funded position for which continuation funding will be sought
