CPPS seeks a dynamic, equity-focused, transformational and visionary Executive Director (ED) to lead the Center into its next generation of impact in public schools. Reporting to the Board, the ED manages the total operation of the organization including leading a team of 12 passionate employees, ensuring sustainable funding, and managing an operating budget of $2 million. The ED provides the strategic leadership and operational framework to ensure the organization is a sustainable model for effective educational reform and fulfills its mission through programs, services, progressive educational advocacy and impactful stakeholder engagement.
The successful candidate will be a collaborative leader with solid organizational management experience, a passion for and leadership in public educational reform with an emphasis on student-centered school reform that focuses on college and career readiness. Successful candidates will be mission driven and results oriented leaders who have managed the expansion of organizations/programs; possess a strong background in strategic planning, fiscal management and program operations; have a proven track record of successful fund raising; and be a skilled relationship builder. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are imperative together with experience in working with a dedicated volunteer Board and other stakeholder groups.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible leadership experience as a non-profit executive; education administrator or program director; foundation educational program officer or other closely related field. A master’s degree is highly desirable.
