The International Association of Lighting Designers (IALD), located in downtown Chicago, seeks a Director of Finance to be responsible for the overall management and operation of finance and accounting.
Qualifications for the position include a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in accounting, business or a related field (CPA and MBA preferred, or equivalent work experience); senior level knowledge of, and experience with, all aspects of accounting and finance for non-for-profit corporations, including trade associations and educational and charitable entities; and 8-10 years of related work including a strong track record in financial accounting controls and bookkeeping/accounting processes and procedures, preferably within membership organizations. Also required are a thorough knowledge of budget preparation, cash flow projections, and financial analysis; a strong understanding and working knowledge of computer accounting systems, including advanced facility with Sage (Peachtree) accounting software, and the Microsoft Office Suite; and demonstrated ability to think strategically, organize and prioritize work, and manage multiple priorities with a results orientation. In addition, the successful candidate must have a strong customer service orientation, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to work successfully in a multi-cultural environment.
