The Michigan Municipal League (the League) is seeking an experienced Database Administrator to join our team. The selected candidate will develop, analyze and maintain our association management database and will work closely with the department director to achieve departmental goals. We’re looking for a self-starter who can quickly learn new skills and deliver prompt and outstanding work. Our ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, is willing to take on new challenges, and can effectively and accurately juggle multiple tasks within deadlines. A sense of humor will come in handy as will a willingness to jump in to do what’s needed (we all do).
If you were working for us, here are just some things you would do:
Create new SQL queries, stored procedures, and reports.
Provide staff with custom member lists for mail or email communications.
Perform data integrity checks and balances.
Proactively assist multiple departments by performing deep data analysis used for event/service marketing, demographical or statistical purposes, and other research projects.
Coordinate our member data collection survey and assist in the creation of the yearly directory, including responding to member inquiries on the process.
Prepare technical documentation and workflows of front-end and back-end systems.
Provide front-end training to system users, ranging from large-group presentations to one-on-one meetings.
Deliver excellent customer service to internal system users as well as League membership.
Assist in choosing a new association management system to better serve League staff and the membership and serve as a project leader throughout the transition.
Serve as a back-up to other departmental functions as needed.

About You: Our ideal candidate will have:
An associate’s degree or higher is strongly preferred.
Five or more years of experience performing database development and administration is required.
Experience working with MS SQL Server, Crystal Reports, MS Access and other related programs required.
Experience with creating/editing/documenting SQL queries and reports.
Experience in dashboard development a plus.
Intermediate skill working with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Superior organizational skills and close attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
Ability to effectively lead and complete projects within deadlines.
