The Membership Development Specialist works with the Deputy Director, Member Product Development and Engagement to coordinate the development, implementation, and monitoring of membership recruitment and retention initiatives and member products and benefits.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Coordinate the implementation of membership recruitment and retention initiatives and campaigns at the direction of the Deputy Director, Member Product Development and Engagement
Plan the marketing and promotional activities for the membership department, including the content, design, and production of printed materials, online materials, and other resources
Assist with tracking membership trends including the development of systems and processes for monitoring and evaluation of said campaigns
Manage the coordination and implementation of Resident-Fellow programs, including all aspects of the APA’s 100% Club Program for Residency Training Programs, including:
continuing to build APA’s stellar relationship with physician training directors and program coordinators
facilitating organizational invoicing for a smoother billing process
increasing the visibility and outreach of all programs
providing superior customer service
engaging new programs to participate
Assist in maintaining and developing member products and benefits, working with the Director and Deputy Director, such as:
maintain and grow the SET for Success program
facilitate the yearly RFM MindGames competition
coordinate other member benefits and programs
Manage other aspects of membership campaigns including the Resident-Fellow to General Member Advancement Campaign, Medical Student recruitment and retention campaigns, and others
Coordinate membership exhibiting and promotional events, including grand rounds at residency programs, bi-annual PsychSIGN medical student conferences, and other outreach opportunities as identified
Provide support to ad-hoc work groups of the Membership Committee as needed
Assist in managing the Association’s Affinity benefits programs
Other duties as assigned
REQUIRED SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, AND QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree, in any field, from an accredited college or university.
Three to five years of experience in a marketing, membership, or customer service role with a professional or trade association
Experience using multiple communication platforms in a professional setting, such as CRM software (SalesForce specifically), online communities, email marketing systems, and/or Adobe Creative suite
Proficient in Windows and Microsoft Office
Self-motivated and comfortable working with minimal supervision
Excellent oral and written communication, attention to detail, and a creative mind
Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to coordinate work with other staff members to determine priorities and meet established deadlines
Service oriented with an ability to interact in a diplomatic and tactful way with members, public, and other staff
Ability to learn and utilize new software applications as required.
