The American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) (www.asla.org) seeks a human resources manager. The position is responsible for managing all aspects of ASLA human resources and benefits administration, and working in partnership with the CEO and senior staff to foster staff engagement, wellness, and productivity.
Manages recruitment, new employee onboarding, progress review, disciplinary, and separation processes.
Develops, implements, and maintains human resources policies and procedures.
Maintains personnel and benefits records and forms.
Coordinates payroll and benefits processing and record-keeping.
Responsible for administration, communication/promotion, and periodic review/benchmarking of employee benefits programs.
Supports ASLA participation in the WELL Building Standard and JUST programs.
Organizes wellness programs.
Organizes and administers employee professional development and employee recognition programs.
Supports departmental and ASLA-wide planning, performance monitoring, and performance improvement processes.
Supports the ASLA mission and strategic objectives and upholds the ASLA values and culture.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Skills: Proficiency in verbal, written, and interpersonal communication. Excellent organizational skills, good judgment, and attention to detail. Ability to balance heavy workload with short- and long-term project deadlines, address changing priorities, and work well under pressure. Strong technical skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office computer applications and payroll/benefits systems/software.
Experience: Minimum five years’ experience in association/nonprofit human resources management; demonstrated knowledge of the principles and practices of human resources administration.
