ABSA International was founded in 1984 to promote biosafety as a scientific discipline and serve the growing needs of biosafety professionals throughout the world. Our goals are to provide a professional association that represents the interests and needs of practitioners of biological safety and to provide a forum for the continued and timely exchange of biosafety in formation.
Member Services Professional

As the Member Services Professional, we will rely on you to assist members and potential customers with questions about membership and other ABSA International products and activities. In addition, you will also assist other ABSA International team members with office tasks and work with volunteer teams and committees.
Answer member and customer questions via phone, email or social media.
Assist in updating and maintaining ABSA International Member database.
Assist in promoting ABSA products and services.
Learn and be able to answer questions about ABSA International, its products and services.
Assist the office team with office tasks.
Assist the Deputy Director in preparing for meetings, courses, and conferences.
Be aware of current issues and trends in biosafety and the needs of biosafety professionals.
Promote and assist in carrying out the Association's mission, vision and goals in a manner consistent with the Association's stated values.
Assist volunteer teams and committees with meetings and tasks.
Organize calls and take notes.
Work as a team with the ABSA International staff and volunteers.
Keep a log of members and customers complaints and suggestions.
Possible travel to meetings and conferences
Anticipated hours for this role will be 9am - 5pm, Monday - Friday.

Degree in Business, Association Management, Project Management, Communication or a related field preferred.
Ability to communicate effectively, professionally, and politely with customers and members.
Assist members and customers by answering questions or helping them meet their needs.
Learn about ABSA Internationals structure, programs, products and services.
Work in a close team environment with others.
Experience with professional associations.
Exhibit flexible and innovative approaches while performing essential responsibilities and assignments.
Strong organizational skills in order to be able to handle multiple overlapping activities.
Ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines; establish and meet schedules.
Proficiency in the use of personal computers, application software, social media and databases.
Ability to be flexible and work various tasks in a small office team environment.
Understand the cultural differences and needs of different nationalities.
