Reporting to the TAYE Advisory Board (strategy) and The Vision Council Vice President of Marketing & Communications (operations/program), the Executive Director will have overall strategic and operational responsibility for the TAYE campaign staff, programs, expansion, and execution of its mission as aligned with its strategic plan to elevate the importance of vision health and increase the number annual eye exams.
Provide comprehensive and strategic leadership in developing a multi-faceted strategic approach to grow annual campaign revenue;
Provide business development & campaign fundraising - develop and strengthen relationships and alliances with private sector partners, foundations, and domestic and international funding agencies;
Oversee marketing & communications initiatives with an emphasis on maximization of resources, utilization of new media & return on investment;
Work collaboratively with individuals throughout partner organizations (including but not limited to senior staff, directors, program managers, and program officers) to plan and launch new initiatives and ensure utilization of best campaign management practices;
Ensure TAYE has strong connections with professional eye care community. Develop and manage relationships with key opinion leaders (KOL’s), major industry influencers, professional organizations / associations and educational institutions;
Utilize staff resources within and across department lines of The Vision Council to ensure initiatives are developed efficiently, relationships are established using existing contacts where possible and outreach is consistent with the Think About Your Eyes mission and focus;
Manage and oversee the TAYE budget; review prior year's performance and establish new goals; and provide reports on key activities to the TAYE Advisory Board & key partners;
Delegate responsibilities and supervise the work of executives and staff providing guidance and motivation to drive maximum performance;
Act as the public speaker and public relations representative of the campaign in ways that strengthen its profile;
Analyze problematic situations and occurrences and provide solutions to ensure campaign survival and growth;
Actively engage and energize TAYE board members, , leadership partners, partnering organizations, leadership State members, premium members and other funders; and
Ensure effective systems to track scaling progress, and regularly evaluate program components, so as to measure successes that can be effectively communicated to the board, funders, and other constituents.
Post-graduate, Advanced degree - MBA or MPH preferred
At least 10 years of senior management experience in US. marketplace; track record of effectively leading and regionally and/or nationally scaling a performance- and outcomes-based organization and staff; ability to point to specific examples of having developed and operationalized strategies that have taken an organization to the next stage of growth;
Unwavering commitment to quality programs and data-driven program evaluation;
Excellence in organizational management with the ability to -lead staff, develop high-performance teams, hold team members accountable, set and achieve strategic objectives, and manage a budget;
Past success working with a Board of Directors with the ability to cultivate existing board member relationships;
Strong marketing, public relations, and fundraising experience with the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders and cultures;
Strong written & verbal communication and presentation skills; a persuasive and passionate communicator with excellent interpersonal and multidisciplinary project skills;
Action-oriented, entrepreneurial, adaptable, and innovative approach to business planning;
Ability to work effectively in collaboration with diverse groups of people and drive consensus; and
Passion, idealism, integrity, positive attitude, mission-driven, and self-directed.
Healthcare experience – highly preferred
