This position is primarily responsible for managing the Membership Engagement area for the Society of Women Engineers. This will include a strategic role in membership renewal and retention design, management of all individual facing membership initiatives, campaigns and programs. This position must be able to handle multiple tasks while working with others including members, non-members, volunteer committees, vendors, corporate partners, and other partner organizations to assist SWE in meeting identified goals in its strategic plan. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Works with the senior staff to develop and document the annual membership recruitment and retention plan, recruitment marketing initiatives to achieve annual membership goals.
Responsible for building cross departmental support and buy-in.
Identifies opportunities for new services and delivery channels to meet member needs and satisfaction.
Collect and share information from members and non-members that will enhance SWE’s ability to provide one-on-one membership benefits and services.
Conducts research on member needs and trends relating to dues structures.
Provides oversight for the implementation of marketing initiatives supporting the annual membership recruitment & retention plan. This includes the tracking, analysis, synthesis and reporting campaign results.
Develop short and long-term customer retention strategy, overall and by segment, based on clear customer insights.
Participate in the development of annual marketing budgets and assess on-going marketing mix to drive optimal performance. Identify and establish metrics, benchmarks and key performance indicators (KPIs) in collaboration with the marketing team.
Formulate and implement strategic marketing communication strategies and tactics to advertise the association's new and existing products or services across all media.
Develop messaging, positioning and value propositions for all membership segments.
Collaborate with other departments and key marketing personnel to manage the SWE’s brand and product positioning and ensures ongoing brand awareness.
Works closely with marketing team on content and design of all marketing materials (digital and print).
Serve as a primary point of contact with the marketing team for engagement initiatives.
Track and analyze competitors' services, prices, and messaging; synthesizes information to develop an integrated marketing strategy and course of action.
Manage and track budget(s); utilize key financial and operational metrics to measure effectiveness of membership marketing campaigns, ad-hoc qualitative and quantitative/qualitative analyses and other special reporting as needed.
Provides oversight of all Engagement reporting and analyses, forecasting, ad-hoc, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual Engagement reports relating to SWE membership, including recruitment and retention initiatives
Assists sections and global affiliates to follow best practices and leverage membership marketing initiatives through updates, webinars and presentations.
Ensures local and state components adhere to membership bylaws, policies and database procedures.
Solicits and incorporates feedback from components on membership issues to ensure that policies and procedures
Keeps abreast of association trends and best practices regarding membership.
Excellent computer and database management skills
Ability to work effectively in a member-focused and team-oriented culture and manage multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines
Excellent problem-solving skills
Experience in driving a membership campaign
Familiarity with data models
Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Access, and Excel)
Strong verbal, written and presentation skills
Proven track record of initiating collaborative effort among various departments focused on member and community engagement
Ability to gather information and analyze, conceptualize, set priorities, take initiative, lead a team and collaborate
Familiarity with Oracle SQL a plus.
