The Montana Hospital Association (MHA), the principle advocate for the interests of its members in their efforts to improve the health status of the communities they serve, has retained Witt/Kieffer to aid in the recruitment of the President and Chief Executive Officer.
Headquartered in Helena, Montana, MHA offers a variety of services, including advocacy of members’ interests with state and federal governmental agencies and legislative bodies, regulatory assistance, comparative data products, purchasing programs, education and communications to a membership that ranges from the smallest critical access hospitals to the largest tertiary care hospitals.
Reporting to the Board of Trustees, the President will lead MHA staff and members in a cohesive effort to develop policy and advocacy positions at both the state and federal levels that address the needs of their patients and caregivers. The President must create public and legislative awareness of the economic and social contributions of the hospital and healthcare industry and drive an agenda that MHA members and its most critical stakeholders will embrace. The ability to build relationships with a broad base of constituents with similar but not identical missions will be essential. A key responsibility will be effectively leading advocacy on behalf of MHA members at the state and federal levels.
Candidates should have experience at the senior management level of a complex membership organization, healthcare provider, healthcare policy organization or related entity, and a stellar track record of building coalitions among diverse stakeholders. A bachelor’s degree is required and an advanced degree is strongly preferred.
