This exempt, full-time position is responsible for serving as NGVAmerica’s direct link – both proactively and reactively – to media outlets and audiences in targeted regions of the country for purposes of impacting advocacy in key regions and media markets. In addition, this position provides key operational and event management support. The Communications & Member Solutions Manager reports to NGVAmerica’s President.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop and execute digital communication strategies to support NGVAmerica’s short and long term goals
Oversee all websites and social networking assets to ensure accurate content and consistent brand messaging across all web communications; respond to user involvement
Develop accurate and informative web content based on approved communications plan
Work with staff to maintain quality and value of online Members Center
Establish website metrics and provide ongoing reporting and analysis of website traffic and usage
Traditional Media and Public Relations
Establish and maintain relationships with media contacts to receive direct industry news
Issue regular press releases covering significant organization and industry news
Provide general information to public and press
Act as press liaison to schedule and facilitate staff interviews and other press opportunities
Create NGVAmerica Fact Sheets and other educational materials
Produce marketing materials on various topics as directed
Produce and distribute NGVAmerica’s weekly newsletter to membership
Manage NGVA’s newly-formed Communicators Working Group
Compile, format, and distribute regular Activity/Progress Reports to members
Events & Logistics
Serve as staff executive responsible for assisting in planning, development of materials and execution of logistics for meetings of the Board of Directors and Finance and Membership Committees
Maintain NGVA database and committee rosters
Provide logistical support as needed for annual Road Rally, conferences and meetings
Support NGVA President and Membership Committee in maintaining current membership database and information tracking
Assist in development of member solicitation package and design program to grow membership
Support annual membership invoicing efforts and solicitation packages
Provide membership information and reports for Board and Finance and Membership Committees
Process routine membership inquiries from potential member companies
KNOWLEDGE & CAPABILITY REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum 3-5 years of relevant work experience. Hill experience a plus
Strong attention to detail
Exceptional written and verbal communications skills, as well as the ability to create and give internal and public presentations
Ability to process technical and abstract verbal and written information to establish beneficial messaging framework and action plans
Ability to work both independently and as a strong contributor to a team
Ability to work on a variety of matters simultaneously, to prioritize multiple issues, projects, tasks and requests, and to use independent judgment in evaluating situations and issues
Ability to manage the workflow and work product of consultants, with an eye for quality
Mastery of digital and social media
Ability to perform graphic design layouts a plus
Knowledge of press, media and newswire services
Willingness to perform other professional duties and responsibilities as assigned
Some domestic travel may be required
