Assists Director of Grants and Foundation Relations in obtaining grants from foundations, corporations, and governmental agencies through research, writing, budget development and personal visits to support institutional priorities and financial needs of the College.
Using commercial databases, researches corporation/foundation prospects to determine sources of funds, including corporate, governmental, and philanthropic foundations.
Writes compelling proposals, manages deadlines, and cultivates prospects and stewards donors.
Manages a portfolio of funding projects with College Deans.
Works in collaboration with College Deans, program directors, finance office and Director of Grants and Foundation Relations to develop proposal narratives, budgets and reports.
Develops and maintains collaborations with other departments and with external organizations.
Assists Director of Grants and Foundation in developing and submitting annual reports to funding sources as required.
Maintains and constantly updates pipelines of upcoming proposals and reports to track and manage deadlines.
Manages pre-approval process of required review and signatures for faculty wishing to submit proposals on behalf of the College.
Performs other duties as required to meet the goals and needs of the department and the College.
Bachelor degree required
Minimum of two years full-time grant writing experience in a non-profit setting.
Excellent understanding of the budgetary process and budget development.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Experience with and understanding of grant sources.
Strong organizational skills.
Excellent research and computer skills.
Familiarity with corporate/foundation prospect software desirable.
